Loft Wardrobes

Bespoke Loft Wardrobes - Fitted Storage for Sloping Ceilings

Loft conversions come with angles, eaves and awkward shapes that off-the-shelf wardrobes cannot deal with. We design and build bespoke loft wardrobes that turn every centimetre of your sloped ceiling space into usable storage.

The Problem with Loft Rooms and Storage

A loft conversion gives you a new room, but it also gives you sloping ceilings, low eaves and angles that make standard furniture impossible. Freestanding wardrobes leave large gaps above and beside them. The eave space - often the largest area of the room - goes completely unused.

A bespoke loft wardrobe solves this by following the exact line of your ceiling. We build storage into the eaves, along the knee walls and up to the highest point of the room, so every centimetre of space earns its keep.

How We Design Loft Wardrobes

Every loft is different. The ceiling pitch, the knee-wall height, the position of Velux windows, dormers and structural beams all affect what can be built and where. That is why every loft wardrobe project starts with a detailed in-home survey.

During the design visit, our designer will:

Measure every angle, slope and ceiling height in the room
Note the position of windows, beams, pipes and access hatches
Discuss how you want to use the wardrobe - what you need to hang, fold, store and access daily
Show you material samples, finish options and interior fittings
Design a layout that maximises storage without making the room feel cramped
Provide a full, itemised quote with no hidden costs

Interior Options for Loft Wardrobes

Under the Eaves - Low Sections

The lowest parts of a loft room are perfect for:

Pull-out shoe racks and shoe shelves
Low drawers for folded knitwear, accessories and bedding
Slide-out storage boxes for seasonal items
Open cubbies for bags and everyday items

Mid-Height Sections

Where the ceiling gives you a bit more headroom:

Double-hang rails for shirts, trousers and jackets
Adjustable shelves for folded clothing
Soft-close drawers
Pull-out trouser rails and belt hooks

Full-Height Sections

At the tallest point of the room:

Full-length hanging for dresses, coats and suits
Floor-to-ceiling shelving
Integrated LED lighting
Mirror panels on wardrobe doors

Door Styles for Loft Wardrobes

The door style depends on the angle of the ceiling and the layout of the room. In most loft wardrobes, we use a combination of:

Hinged doors on full-height sections where there is room for the door to swing open
Sliding doors where the wardrobe runs along a longer wall and hinged doors would obstruct the room
Open fronts on low eave sections where doors are impractical or unnecessary
Push-to-open doors for a clean, handleless finish

All doors are available in the same range of finishes - matt, gloss, wood-effect, painted and mirror - so the wardrobe looks cohesive regardless of the mix of door types.

Questions About Loft Wardrobes

Yes. We have fitted wardrobes in every type of loft conversion - dormer, hip-to-gable, mansard and Velux. Every wardrobe is designed from scratch around the specific angles and dimensions of your loft room.

No. Because the wardrobe is built into the eaves and follows the line of the ceiling, it actually makes the room feel more spacious. The storage is tucked into areas that would otherwise be dead space, leaving the full-height centre of the room open and uncluttered.

We design around them. Our designer will note the position of every beam, pipe, duct and access hatch during the initial survey. The wardrobe is then built to accommodate these elements - boxing them in neatly or working around them as needed.

Yes. A well-designed loft wardrobe turns otherwise unusable eave space into practical storage, which is a genuine selling point. Estate agents consistently note that fitted storage in loft conversions helps attract buyers and supports a higher asking price.
