Hinged Door Wardrobes

Bespoke Hinged Door Fitted Wardrobes

A hinged door fitted wardrobe gives you full, unobstructed access to your entire wardrobe interior in one motion.

The Case for Hinged Doors

Hinged doors remain the most popular choice for fitted wardrobes - and for good reason. When you open a hinged door, you see the full width of that section of the wardrobe at once. There is no sliding panel blocking the other half. This makes organising, finding and accessing your clothing faster and more straightforward.

Hinged door wardrobes work particularly well in:

Larger bedrooms where door swing is not an issue
Period properties where a traditional, furniture-quality look is important
Alcove rooms where the wardrobe sits neatly between chimney breast recesses
Shaker-style and classic interiors where the door profile is a key design feature

Door Styles and Finishes

Flat-panel - clean, modern and minimal
Shaker - a framed, recessed panel with a timeless look
Raised and fielded - a classic profile with a raised centre panel
Beaded in-frame - a traditional detail often seen in period homes
Handleless push-to-open - contemporary and seamless

Finishes

Hand-painted in any colour - matched to your room or chosen from our range
Spray-lacquered in matt or gloss
Wood-effect laminate - oak, walnut, grey driftwood and more
Natural timber veneer for a real wood finish
Two-tone combinations - different colours for the frame and panel

Hardware

Knob handles - round, square, ceramic or metal
Bar handles - brushed nickel, matt black, brass or chrome
Cup handles - a classic choice for shaker-style doors
Handleless push-to-open mechanisms for a completely clean front

Questions About Hinged Door Wardrobes

A standard hinged wardrobe door needs around 50–60 cm of clearance in front of the wardrobe to open fully. If your room is tight on space, we can use narrower doors or combine hinged doors with other door styles to keep the walkway clear.

Yes. We can fit full-length mirrors to the inside or outside of hinged doors. Interior mirrors are a popular choice - they are hidden when the door is closed and available when you are dressing.

An in-frame door sits inside the frame of the wardrobe carcass, giving a traditional, furniture-quality look. A lay-on door sits in front of the frame, covering it completely for a more modern, seamless appearance. We build both styles to the same standard.
