Dressing Tables
Bespoke Dressing Tables and Vanity Units - Designed Around Your Morning Routine
A proper dressing table is one of the most satisfying pieces of bedroom furniture when it is designed well.
What Makes a Good Dressing Table
A good dressing table is about three things: height, mirror and storage. The surface needs to be at the right height for comfortable use - not a desk height, not a coffee table height, but a height that works when you are seated and leaning slightly forward. The mirror needs to be positioned at the correct angle and distance. And the storage needs to keep everything organised and within reach.
Most off-the-shelf dressing tables get one or two of these right but rarely all three. A bespoke dressing table is designed around the person using it - the height is set to your chair, the mirror is positioned for your eye level, and the storage is configured for the items you actually use every day.
Built-In vs Freestanding
Built-In Dressing Tables
A built-in dressing table is integrated into the bedroom furniture scheme - typically set between two wardrobe sections or at the end of a run of fitted wardrobes. The finishes, hardware and proportions all match. The mirror can be wall-mounted, recessed into a panel or set within a lit alcove. This is the best option when you want a seamless, fitted look.
Freestanding Dressing Tables
A freestanding dressing table is a standalone piece of furniture that can be positioned anywhere in the room. It is still built to your exact dimensions and finished to your specification, but it is not fixed to a wall or connected to other furniture. This gives you the flexibility to rearrange the room in the future while still having a properly designed dressing table.

Dressing Table Questions
The standard dressing table height is around 74-76 cm, which is comfortable for most people when seated on a standard stool or chair. However, because we build bespoke, we can adjust the height to suit you - whether you prefer to sit on a lower ottoman, a higher chair, or even stand. We take your measurements during the design visit to get this right.
Yes - this is one of the most popular configurations. The dressing table is built into a run of fitted wardrobes, using the same finishes and hardware. It sits between two wardrobe sections or at the end of a run, with the mirror and lighting integrated into the overall design. This gives the room a seamless, built-in look.
